Polyethylene (PE) tape is an anti-corrosion tape made of polyethylene as the base material and composite adhesive. The base material is mostly high- or low-density synthetic polyethylene calendered rough film, and the adhesive layer uses butyl rubber modified asphalt anti-corrosion adhesive. It is mainly divided into anti-corrosion tape, protective tape, joint repair tape, and matching primer series, with a thickness of 1.00–2.00 mm and an applicable temperature range of -34–+75℃. The product conforms to standards such as SY/T0414-2017 and AWWA C214, and features good adhesion and sealing, UV resistance, and high tensile strength. It is used for the external corrosion protection of steel pipelines in oil, natural gas, and urban gas pipeline networks.
In the industrial production of PE anti-corrosion tape, thermal lamination production lines are used. Industrially produced products mainly include PE anti-corrosion tape and PE 660 type adhesive tape.
