Polyethylene tape is widely used for external corrosion protection of steel pipelines in pipeline projects such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, urban gas, power and water supply, metallurgy, and shipbuilding. This material is also used in long-distance gas pipelines, large-scale petrochemical projects, strategic reserves, and coal chemical projects. Its application industries cover multiple fields including oil and gas transportation, chemicals, metallurgy, municipal engineering, water conservancy facilities, and shipyards.

Special attention must be paid to safe operation when using polyethylene tape (especially anti-corrosion tape) in winter. The tape hardens easily in low temperatures, and excessively wide tapes (e.g., exceeding 150 mm) are prone to bubbling during wrapping, affecting the quality of corrosion protection.
