Because the adhesive penetrates the corrugated structure, any attempt to open the carton will tear the fibers. Tape, on the other hand, can be cut open with a knife, allowing contents to be removed unnoticed and resealed.
Aesthetically Pleasing: Today, businesses demand that packaging not only deliver goods but also convey product and company image through its design. Therefore, the fewer visual obstructions, the better. Tape often obscures images and interferes with the transmission of packaging information; hot melt adhesive, applied between folds, provides more display space.
Low Cost: Hot melt adhesive permanent sealing tape offers fast sealing speed, completing the entire bonding process in just 1-3 seconds. It is suitable for mass production, consumes less energy, and is low-cost. The sealing cost of standard corrugated carton hot melt tape is approximately 32 yuan/1000 cartons, which is the mid-range price for hot melt adhesive, while the mid-range price for tape sealing is approximately 120 yuan/1000 cartons.
If hot melt adhesive is used, adding adhesive during processing will not cause machine downtime; however, changing tape requires machine downtime. Moreover, partitions are not required inside the box, and the sealing strength is greater than that of boxes sealed with tape and internal partitions, which can reduce partition costs.
