Usage Scenarios
Waterproof tape is suitable for emergency repairs of various indoor and outdoor water pipes and leaks. It is also commonly used for patching and sealing waterproof materials such as waterproof coatings and boards. Sealing tape, on the other hand, is mainly used to seal the joints of building materials such as doors, windows, and glass curtain walls.
Materials
Waterproof tape is typically made of PVC, which is UV resistant, corrosion resistant, and abrasion resistant. Sealing tape is mainly made of three materials: silicone sealing tape, butyl rubber sealing tape, and acrylic sealing tape.
Adhesion
Waterproof tape is easy to apply and remove, and can be reused without leaving adhesive residue. Sealing tape commonly comes in single-sided and double-sided adhesive versions, possessing strong adhesion and maintaining a seal for a long time.
Ease of Application
Waterproof tape can be simply torn and applied, making it easy to remove and use. Sealing tape requires special tools and sealant, making the application process more complicated.
Service Life
Waterproof tape typically has a short service life, generally a few months to a year, and needs to be replaced regularly; while sealing tape has a longer service life and can be used for several years.
