Double-sided sealing tape is a roll of adhesive tape made from paper, cloth, plastic film, etc., coated with elastomer or resin-based pressure-sensitive adhesive. It consists of a substrate, adhesive, and release layer. Its adhesion relies on the bonding between adhesive molecules and the adhered object. Early versions used animal and plant glues and rubber, but modern tapes primarily use polymer materials.
Based on differences in substrate and adhesive properties, it can be divided into mesh, foam, PET, etc., with adhesive types including solvent-based, emulsion-based, and hot-melt types. It is widely used in office, automotive manufacturing, electronics, and home furnishing fields, such as fixing stationery, precision electronic components, or wall decorations. Removal depends on the environment: smooth surfaces can be peeled off directly; complex materials can be softened with a hair dryer or quickly torn off; low-temperature environments yield better results.
