Before use, remove rust, welding slag, burrs, oil, and other debris from the pipeline. Manual rust removal should achieve St3 grade, and mechanical rust removal should achieve Sa2.5 grade. Dry the surface thoroughly. A primer can be applied to the pipeline surface; allow it to dry for 3-5 minutes before applying the tape.

The polyethylene (PE) anti-corrosion tape used should meet the anti-corrosion layer grade and structural requirements of the engineering design. When wrapping the tape, each loop should be parallel, without twisting or wrinkling, and the tape end should be pressed to prevent warping. Wrapping should be even, and tension must be controlled.

For welds on the pipeline, first cover the weld with a narrow layer of polyethylene anti-corrosion tape and press it firmly by hand or with wooden tools. For pipelines undergoing major anti-corrosion layer repairs, a rotary wrapping device should be used on-site, and construction and testing should be carried out according to regulations.

The ambient temperature for construction should be between -5°C and +50°C. Construction is prohibited in rain, snow, fog, thunderstorms, or in open-air environments with humidity greater than 85% or strong winds and sandstorms.
