Waterproof Aluminum Foil Lamination Tape is a pressure-sensitive sealing tape combining an aluminum foil layer, laminated backing and adhesive layer. The foil surface provides a continuous barrier over joints and overlaps, while the adhesive layer provides contact with compatible substrates.

It is used for moisture-resistant sealing on insulation materials, HVAC components, building materials and selected industrial surfaces. Tape width, total thickness, foil thickness, adhesive construction, roll length and core size can be specified according to the application and converting process.

Product Construction
Aluminum Foil Layer

The aluminum foil forms the primary barrier surface. A reference thickness of 18–50 μm covers common requirements for flexibility, handling and surface coverage.
Lamination Layer
A polymer or reinforcing layer can be laminated with the foil to improve dimensional stability during slitting, winding and installation. The backing structure is selected according to required handling strength and flexibility.
Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive
The adhesive layer provides pressure-activated bonding to compatible surfaces. Acrylic or rubber-based adhesive systems can be selected according to substrate type, application temperature and required adhesion level.

Key Advantages
Moisture Barrier

The foil laminate provides continuous coverage across seams, overlaps and selected edges, helping reduce moisture entry through the sealed area.
Controlled Flexibility
The laminate structure allows the tape to follow straight joints, edges and moderate surface contours during installation.
Clean Surface Finish
The foil-facing surface provides a uniform metallic finish for applications where exposed joint coverage is required.
Stable Roll Processing
Controlled coating, lamination, slitting and winding support consistent dimensions and stable unwinding during installation or downstream converting.

Substrate Compatibility
Aluminum and Metal

The tape can be specified for selected aluminum, galvanized steel and coated metal surfaces. The bonding surface should be dry and free from oil, dust and loose contamination.
Insulation Facings
Common applications include foil-faced and polymer-faced insulation materials where joint coverage and moisture protection are required.
Polymer Surfaces
Selected PE, PP and related polymer surfaces can be considered after substrate testing. Surface energy, cleanliness and contact area affect final adhesion.

Application Areas
HVAC and Duct Sealing

Used on selected joints, overlaps and connection areas around insulated duct systems where a foil-faced sealing layer is required.
Building Materials
Applied to seams, edges and overlaps in moisture-control assemblies, building envelope components and related materials.
Insulation Systems
Used to cover joints and cut edges of foil-faced insulation, helping maintain a continuous external foil surface across connected sections.
Industrial Maintenance
Applied to selected panels, fabricated components and equipment surfaces where localized moisture-resistant sealing is required.

Manufacturing Control
Adhesive Coating

Coating weight and coverage are controlled across the working width to maintain a stable adhesive layer and consistent bonding behavior.
Lamination
Foil and backing layers are combined under controlled processing conditions to maintain layer adhesion and dimensional stability.
Slitting
Master rolls are converted into specified widths with controlled edge quality to match installation and downstream converting requirements.
Winding
Winding tension is controlled to maintain roll alignment, edge condition and predictable unwinding during use.

Quality Checks
Dimensional Inspection

Tape width, total thickness, roll length and core dimensions are checked against the specified production requirements.
Adhesion Testing
Peel adhesion and tack can be evaluated on agreed substrates to verify the selected adhesive construction for the intended application.
Lamination Inspection
The laminated structure is inspected for visible wrinkles, delamination, coating gaps and edge irregularities.
Roll Inspection
Finished rolls are checked for winding condition, telescoping, edge damage and other converting-related defects.

Specification Selection
Flexible Sealing

A thinner foil and laminate construction can be selected where the tape must conform closely to joints, edges and moderate surface contours.
Higher Handling Strength
A thicker laminate structure can be considered where the tape requires greater rigidity during installation, slitting or repeated handling.
Adhesive Selection
Acrylic or rubber-based adhesive should be selected according to substrate, surface condition, application temperature and required adhesion level.
Roll Configuration
Tape width, roll length, core size and winding direction should match the installation or converting process to maintain efficient handling.

Packaging and Supply

Finished rolls can be supplied in individual protective packaging or grouped cartons according to handling and transportation requirements.

For repeat production, the agreed specification can cover foil thickness, laminate structure, adhesive type, total thickness, tape width, roll length and core size. Keeping these parameters consistent supports stable processing between production batches.
