Polypropylene (OPP) sealing tape, also known as polypropylene reinforced fiber anti-corrosion tape, is an environmentally friendly anti-corrosion material with a polypropylene mesh-reinforced woven fiber geotextile as the base material and butyl rubber and polyisobutylene-modified petroleum asphalt as the adhesive layer. This product conforms to the SY/T0414-2017 standard, possessing non-polluting and non-hazardous characteristics. It is suitable for external corrosion protection of steel pipelines and storage tank protection, especially for the external corrosion protection of overhead pipelines. It can also be used as a sacrificial protective strip for buried pipelines and crossing sections, and is a type of anti-corrosion material.

 

Its base fiber structure can resist creep damage caused by soil stress. The adhesive layer thickness is 0.75-1.25mm, and aging tests have proven its corrosion resistance life of over 50 years. During construction, rust removal to St3/Sa2.5 grade and application of a special primer are required. The applicable temperature range is -5~50℃, and a single layer can be wrapped to form the tape. The product has a temperature resistance of -34℃ to 85℃. Based on its UV resistance, tensile strength, and abrasion resistance, it can be used in oil and gas pipelines and urban water supply and drainage projects, as well as for 3PE anti-corrosion system pipe joints. Transportation and storage should avoid high temperatures and direct sunlight. Shelf life is 12 months.
